Welcome to the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney, Australia
As the national centre for maritime collections, exhibitions, experiences, and knowledge, we are custodians of historic vessels and a cultural hub for Australian maritime heritage and contemporary stories of the sea. These stories come to life for visitors at our Sydney Harbour site and connect with national and global audiences in immersive and innovative ways, including online experiences to explore from anywhere. We have the largest collection of museum vessels in the southern hemisphere including three naval vessels and two fully rigged replica sailing vessels, Duyfken and Endeavour.
As maritime museum colleagues we welcome the opportunity to share our approach in presenting stories of the sea with you – and learning from your achievements. Located in the land ‘down under’ we are looking forward to welcoming delegates from all of the ICMM global community around the world, especially our regional colleagues from Asia and the Pacific.
Situated on the edge of one of the greatest natural harbours in the world and on the land of the world’s longest living culture, the Australian National Maritime Museum is ideally placed to provide a series of unforgettable experiences – from engaging discussions with leading thinkers to exploring one of the world’s greatest natural harbours.
A rich delegate and partners programme, and post conference tour options are also being devised to ensure a truly memorable visit to Australia.
Future ICMM Congress plans:
The ICMM Congress 2028 will be hosted in Estonia.
